Our Story

Trinity Ranch™ located one-hour southwest of San Antonio is a family owned and operated ranch that offers authentic South Texas whitetail deer hunting with a touch of eloquence not often found among the thorns and cactus. Trinity Ranch™ is the brainchild of David Sunderland, a whitetail deer enthusiast who grew up in San Antonio and spent the majority of his life admiring and hunting this elusive animal. Ever since David was a child, he has always been intrigued by the whitetail deer and has spent many years researching and getting a better understanding about how these animals have grown to be the most sought after game animal in North America. Most experienced hunters know that a trophy whitetail is not easy to obtain and that all trophy bucks come in a variety of shapes and sizes. When Sunderland launched Trinity Ranch™, the goal was not who can breed or kill the highest scoring deer but how can a hunter from all skill levels come out to the ranch enjoy South Texas at its best and have the opportunity to hunt deer of a lifetime. The Sunderland family have been actively ranching in this area of South Texas since the 1950s.

They managed and designed ranches first and foremost for the purpose of raising cattle and growing quality deer. The Ranch's number one priority has shifted away from raising cattle, to focusing 100% in the cultivation and development of a uniquely outstanding whitetail deer herd. To achieve this goal the Trinity Ranch™ had to invest a lot of time and resources to take on an aggressive wildlife management program. This entailed a brush and predator control strategy complimented with a strategic partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife. Water conservation efforts have always been a top priority at the ranch along with selective harvesting, ample food plots, and meticulous planning of the different hunting setups to ensure a successful hunt.

Trinity Ranch™ bolsters 1,500 acres of superb habitat with a great diversity of wildlife including feral hogs, javelina, Rio Grande turkey, bobcat, coyote, quail and dove to mention a few. When you add in the superb infrastructure of roads, tanks, senderos, and lodging you come up with a great place for corporate hunting, client entertainment or just a great place to escape the big city blues.
